Hi, this is Liz. I built Birthday Song Maker to bring joy, not frustration. However, because this service uses expensive AI computing power (GPU costs) for every generation, I have crafted a fair refund policy that protects both your rights as a consumer and the sustainability of this independent service.

1. Satisfaction Guarantee

I stand behind the quality of my AI engine. If you are not satisfied with the generated song due to technical errors or quality issues, you can request a refund within 7 days of your purchase.

2. Eligible Refund Scenarios

We will happily issue a full refund in the following cases:
  • Technical Failure: The song failed to generate, or the audio file is corrupted/unplayable.
  • Quality Issues: The audio contains severe static, silence, or the AI completely ignored your name/lyrics instructions.
  • Duplicate Charges: You were accidentally charged twice for the same order due to a system error.

3. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Due to the costs associated with AI generation, we generally cannot offer refunds for:
  • Personal Preference: e.g., "I just don't like the melody style" (Since music is subjective, we recommend listening to samples before purchase).
  • User Error: Typos in the name or lyrics provided by you.
  • Downloaded Content: If you have already downloaded the high-quality audio file and there are no technical defects.

4. How Payments are Processed

All financial transactions are handled by Paddle, our authorized Merchant of Record. This means your payment is secure, and refunds will be processed back to your original payment method (Credit Card/PayPal) via Paddle's system.
